About the role

We are seeking a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Fitter to join our team in Brisbane on a casual basis. This role involves planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, and general mechanical work to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will need to be flexible, as the role requires a range of shifts including days, afternoons, and nights, with weekend work as required.

Please note, this is a hands-on role in a food manufacturing environment, including poultry, beef, and value-added products, and may involve working in less clean conditions at times. Please note, shifts may be adjusted at short notice to meet operational needs.

Key responsibilities

- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose faults and complete mechanical repairs.
- Respond to breakdowns and help reduce downtime.
- Install, assemble, fit, and adjust mechanical components.
- Read and interpret technical drawings,



manuals, and specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

Skills and experience

- Minimum Certificate III in Mechanical Fitting is required.
- Experience in maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding.

• Food manufacturing experience is preferred.

• Stainless steel TIG and MIG welding experience is highly regarded.

• Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial equipment is highly regarded.

• Strong commitment to safety and quality.

• Reliable transport is essential.

• Must have basic hand tools.

• Current driver’s licence.
