The Opportunity This role is designed for internal audit professionals who bring judgement, credibility, and leadership presence.

At a junior level, you will:





- Lead defined workstreams within internal audit and assurance engagements
- Deliver high-quality fieldwork, analysis, and reporting
- Engage with client stakeholders and contribute to audit insights

At a senior level, you will:
- Lead end-to-end internal audit engagements
- Manage client relationships, including senior executives
- Oversee delivery quality and mentor team members
- Contribute to business development and practice growth
- Help shape Axiom’s internal audit methodology and offering

In Practice, Your Work Will Include
- Leading internal audits across complex government and organisational environments
- Designing risk-based audit scopes, testing strategies, and methodologies
- Assessing governance, risk management, and control frameworks
- Engaging senior stakeholders to challenge assumptions and add value
- Translating findings into clear, practical, and strategic insights
- Coaching junior team members through fieldwork and reporting

You Will

- Lead or co-lead internal audit engagements, compliance reviews, and performance audits
- Deliver work aligned to IIA standards and best practice methodologies
- Produce clear and concise reports
- Mentor and develop junior consultants
- Contribute to proposals, scoping decisions, and client growth
- Strengthen Axiom’s internal audit frameworks and approach

What You Bring

- 4–15+ years’ experience in internal audit, risk, or assurance
- Experience leading audits or managing key components of engagements
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks, risk management, and internal controls
- Ability to engage confidently with Directors, SES, or senior executives
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking and professional judgement
- A proactive,



solutions-focused consulting mindset
- Professional qualifications or equivalent (CA, CPA, IIA, CISA), completed or in progress
- Government experience (valued, but not essential)

- Australian citizenship is required
