The Prospect
We're looking for an experienced and adaptable Mechanic to take ownership of our fully equipped workshop and play a vital role in keeping our fleet operating safely and efficiently.
This is far more than a traditional workshop role. You'll work across a diverse fleet that includes:
- Commercial tour vessels
- Private support vessels
- Marine outboard motors
- 4WD vehicles and utes
- Road coaches
- Forklifts and plant equipment
- Workshop machinery and operational equipment
You'll be the go-to mechanical expert, taking pride in maintaining the fleet, managing workshop inventory and parts, and ensuring vehicles and vessels are ready for daily operations. What You'll Be Doing
- Performing servicing, maintenance and repairs across light vehicles, heavy diesel equipment and marine engines.
- Conducting pre-departure inspections on vessels and vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
- Managing fleet maintenance schedules and workbooks to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and technical issues using contemporary diagnostic equipment.
- Installing, upgrading and repairing motors and mechanical components.
- Maintaining workshop inventory, ordering parts and managing stock levels.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Working closely with skippers, drivers and operational teams to keep tours running smoothly.
- Taking ownership of the workshop and continually improving systems and processes.
What You'll Bring
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology, Heavy Commercial Vehicle, Marine Mechanical Technology, or equivalent trade qualification.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience servicing and maintaining a combination of:
- Heavy diesel vehicles
- Marine engines and vessels
- Light vehicles and 4WDs
- Current MR (Medium Rigid) License.
- Current unrestricted Manual Driver's License.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience maintaining fleet records and workshop documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to work across a diverse range of equipment.

This is a remote role, where you will be living and working in the Kimberley Region, WA.

This role includes extensive manual handling tasks including lifting up to 20kg kneeling and squatting, as well as handling chemicals and utilising machinery
