Workshop Software
Warriewood
Workshop Software is a cloud based platform that helps automotive workshops run their businesses: bookings, invoicing, inventory, customer communication, reporting and much more, in one place. We sell to independent mechanical workshops in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States and South Africa. Our customers are hands-on business owners, and we shape every piece of communication to speak directly to them.
This role is responsible for the overall marketing function and our presence in the market. The successful candidate will combine strategic oversight with direct execution, translating product capability into clear, commercially effective communication. This role holds end-to-end ownership of content creation, strategy, demand generation, and lifecycle communications.
Responsibilities include the planning and execution of content across blog, video, and social channels; management of campaigns driving monthly trial and signup volume, including paid media performance against defined cost-per-trial targets; administration of our marketing systems (HubSpot and Userflow) governing CRM, lifecycle automation, and in-app engagement; direction and quality oversight of a retained bench of external specialists; and stewardship of brand messaging and positioning across every market and channel in which we operate.
You are the only marketer inside the business, however, you are not on your own. You direct a retained bench of external specialists: a videographer, a paid media and Google Ads consultant, graphic designers, web implementers and business consultants who advise on marketing. Budget for that bench already exists.
You publish without waiting for sign-off. Blog posts, social, email campaigns, videos and website copy are yours to ship inside our brand guidelines. That is deliberate: a marketer who queues everything behind a CEO approval produces nothing.
Key responsibilities
Content and channels
- Plan, write and publish blog and SEO content on our WordPress site
- Own our YouTube channel: choose topics, write scripts, direct the shoot, then publish, title, thumbnail and distribute
- Run the social calendar across LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram, with copy and creative that suits each
- Write customer facing copy across email, landing pages, in-app messages and release notes
- Repurpose deliberately: one shoot day or one strong article should feed several weeks of channel activity
Campaigns and demand generation
- Own monthly trial and signup volume, and the campaigns that drive it
- Build and send email campaigns, landing pages and product launches end to end
- Responsible for paid activity across Google Ads and social, working with our paid media consultant, and hold that spend to a cost per trial
- Own messaging across website, social and paid channels
- Identify performance gaps, then fix them and report what changed
Directing the retained bench
- Brief external specialists properly: explicit scope, clear deadline, transparent definition of done
- Keep every retainer productively utilised, and report monthly on what each one delivered
- Hold partners to quality and to deadlines, and escalate early when they slip
- Recommend changes to the mix of retained support where the money would work harder elsewhere
CRM and marketing systems
- Own HubSpot: workflows, nurture sequences, segmentation and lifecycle stages
- Maintain database hygiene and keep reporting trustworthy
- Improve automation so that repeatable work stops consuming your week
- Provide clear, honest campaign performance reporting to the CEO
Lifecycle and in-app engagement
- Manage and optimise in-app communication in Userflow
- Build and refine onboarding sequences to improve activation and early engagement
- Work with Product and Support so that messaging inside the platform is clear, helpful and commercially aligned
Messaging and positioning
- Translate product capability into plain customer outcomes, in the language a workshop owner actually uses
- Keep us consistent with brand guidelines across every channel and every market
- Refine messaging based on customer behaviour, sales feedback and campaign results
- Keep our positioning strong across all five markets we sell into
Referral and advocacy
- Run and optimise customer referral initiatives across email, in-app and social
- Monitor participation, conversion and program performance
- Improve incentive structure, messaging and promotion, and test changes with leadership
Events and industry presence
- Plan and execute industry events or trade shows, scheduled around the content calendar rather than in place of it
- Coordinate pre-event and post-event campaigns, and track return and follow-up
Essential Experience and skills
- 4 to 6 years in SaaS, technology or B2B marketing, with most of it hands on
- Strong writer. Copywriting is the single most used skill in this job: blogs, emails, ads, landing pages, in-app copy
- Comfortable in front of and behind a camera: able to script video, direct a shoot and turn footage into published, titled, thumbnailed content
- Able to publish to a WordPress site without waiting for a developer
- Experienced with a CRM and marketing automation platform, ideally HubSpot
- Proven track record directing external suppliers, agencies or contractors and getting real output from them
- Commercially aware: you understand marketing's job is revenue, and you are comfortable being measured on a number
- Comfortable working directly with a founder and CEO, and confident enough to challenge constructively
- Highly organised, detail driven, and able to hold many moving parts without dropping the weekly cadence
- Able to talk to a workshop owner and write in their language, not in marketing language
- Right to work in Australia
Bonus
- Experience marketing to trades, SMEs or the automotive industry
- Experience in a scaling SaaS business
- Multi-market or international marketing experience
- Hands-on SEO experience
- Product-led growth or self-serve trial funnel experience
How to apply
Send your CV, a short note on why this role suits you, and links to work you personally produced: articles you wrote, videos you made, campaigns you ran. We are more interested in what you have shipped than in what you have planned.
