About the Role
n
The Nurse Unit Manager you will play a pivotal role within Arcare; having the responsibility for providing leadership and oversight of the care team within a specific unit.
n
You will deliver the highest quality of clinical care along with compassion to every Arcare Resident while maintaining a supportive & positive work environment for the care team.
n
Your key responsibilities will be:
n
n
- Resident Care: Ensuring the delivery of high-quality and person-centered care to residents, addressing their specific medical, physical, and emotional needs
n
- Staff Supervision: Managing and leading a team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, caregivers and support staff
n
- Care Planning: Overseeing the development and implementation of individual care plans for each resident, considering their unique health requirements and preferences
n
- Medication Management: Ensuring proper administration and management of medications for residents, adhering to prescribed schedules and protocols
n
- Family Communication: Communicating effectively with residents' families or legal guardians,
providing updates on their loved one's condition and involving them in care decisions when appropriate
n
- Crisis Management: Handling emergency situations and critical incidents promptly and effectively
n
n
What we're looking for
n
n
- Current AHPRA Registration
n
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Aged Care as a Registered Nurse
n
- Knowledge of Aged Care accreditation standards
n
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with ANNAC
n
- Expertise in medication administration and wound care with a commitment to ongoing clinical excellence
n
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
n
- An outstanding proficiency in care planning, goal setting and evaluation documentation
n
- Capability to effectively lead and manage a team
n
n
