About the role

This is a great opportunity for a Junior Mechanical Engineer, recent graduate, or experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking to develop their career in a practical, hands-on engineering and manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be involved in mechanical design, 3D modelling, CAD drafting, engineering drawings, product development, manufacturing support, and maintenance of production equipment.

Key responsibilities

- Design and develop mechanical components, products, systems, and equipment
- Create accurate 3D models, CAD designs, and detailed engineering drawings
- Prepare, update, and maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Assist with design development, engineering calculations, and problem-solving
- Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are practical and suitable for manufacture
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machines and equipment
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs and adjustments as required
- Assist with installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment
- Identify opportunities to improve machine reliability, safety, quality, and manufacturing efficiency
- Ensure engineering and maintenance work complies with relevant Australian standards and safety requirements

About you





- Degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Strong interest and ability in 3D modelling, CAD design, and technical drawing
- Proficient in, or willing to develop skills in, relevant CAD software
- Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles
- Practical and hands-on approach to engineering, maintenance, and problem-solving
- Experience or interest in machinery maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting
- Good computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
