Hullbot About the role Hullbot is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support the testing, commissioning, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical and robotic systems used in marine environments. Working as part of the Hullbot team, the successful candidate will support the deployment and maintenance of underwater robotic systems, assist with technical investigations and testing, and ensure equipment is maintained and operationally ready for field operations.

The role involves a combination of workshop-based technical work and field operations aboard commercial vessels and in port environments. Key responsibilities Test, inspect and troubleshoot mechanical and robotic systems and components. Assemble, install, maintain and modify mechanical assemblies and equipment.

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on marine robotic systems and associated equipment. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electromechanical faults and assist with repairs. Conduct operational and performance testing of equipment before and during field deployments.

Collect technical and operational data and assist with analysis and reporting. Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical documentation and service reports. Prepare and configure robotic equipment, batteries, tools and support equipment for marine operations.

Assist with commissioning and deployment of new or modified equipment. Work with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control-system components. Support field operations aboard commercial vessels, including equipment mobilisation and demobilisation.





Travel domestically and internationally as required to support equipment demonstrations, trial, commissioning and field deployments, including overseas customer and operational trials. Liaise with vessel crews, customers, contractors and port authorities during marine operations. Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance procedures and operational performance.

Follow company safety procedures and marine operational requirements. About you The successful candidate will have: Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Marine Mechanics or a related technical discipline.

Relevant experience in mechanical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, testing or commissioning. Strong practical mechanical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment faults. Experience working with hydraulic, mechanical and/or electromechanical systems.

Ability to read and understand technical documentation and equipment specifications. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate technical records. Ability to work independently and as part of a technical field team.

Willingness to work in marine and outdoor environments and travel for operational deployments when required. Solid communication and problem-solving skills.



Desirable experience Experience with marine systems or commercial vessels.

Experience with ROVs, marine robotics or autonomous systems. Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, pumps, compressors, winches or other marine machinery. Experience with field testing, commissioning and technical troubleshooting.

Commercial diving or underwater operations experience. Experience working with vessel crews, shipyards, ports or marine service providers. Benefits
