Casual position working 2 days per week (with opportunity to increase shifts) in a busy specialist Neurosurgery Practice. Tuesdays are essential, with the second day likely to be a Friday. Flexibility is required to assist with staff leave and personal leave coverage. You will work in a supportive and professional medical environment.
Key responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and visitors
- Answering phones and scheduling appointments & recalls
- Confidentially managing patient records and data entry
- Processing payments and Medicare claims
- Handling incoming and outgoing medical correspondence
- Providing administrative support to doctors and clinical staff
- Maintaining a professional and welcoming reception area
About you
- Must have experience working as a medical secretary (ideally at least 1-2 years)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional presentation and positive attitude
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using computers and medical administrative systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and compliance with health privacy regulations
- Ability to take initiative and be proactive
- Experience in using Gentu / Genie medical software is an advantage
