Mining Engineer:

- Peak Partners is partnered with a specialist underground mining business to appoint a Mining Engineer to a long term underground development project.
- This is a close-knit project team led by an experienced Operations Manager, offering genuine exposure to the operational and commercial side of mining. The business is in an exciting growth phase, with opportunities to develop your career, with opportunities to gain exposure to different sites and operation structures.
The Role:Reporting to the Project Manager, the Mining Engineer supports the safe, efficient and commercially successful development scope at this reputable mining operation. You will work closely with site supervisors, technical services and underground crews, and step into an Alternate Project Manager capacity when required.
This is a step-up role for an engineer with three to five years underground who wants to broaden into project delivery, commercial performance and site leadership.
Your key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
- Providing technical and operational support to supervisors, forepersons and underground crews
- Supporting development, production, planning and scheduling, and aligning designs with operational requirements
- Monitoring equipment utilisation, productivity and project performance, and identifying improvements
- Assisting with budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, procurement, subcontractor engagement and commercial claims
- Acting as Alternate Project Manager when required, providing leadership and operational oversight
Ideal Candidate:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent (essential)
- Approximately 3 to 5 years underground mining experience across development and production
- Exposure to mine planning, scheduling and operational engineering
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work closely with operational and client teams
- A genuine interest in developing commercial, project management and leadership capability
- C Class manual licence, Dangerous Goods Security Card and Working at Heights, or the ability to obtain
