Ready for more variety, independence and specialist skills?
If you’re a qualified mechanic who wants to spend less time in the same workshop routine and more time solving practical problems on-site, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
Avanco is launching a new mobile service division and is looking for a capable, hands-on mechanic to service wheelchair lifts, vehicle-access equipment and fleet vehicles across Brisbane.
You’ll work mainly at organised fleet locations, meaning less time driving between small jobs and more time focused on quality work. You’ll also receive training in hydraulics, auto electrical systems and specialist access equipment—valuable skills that can broaden your career.
No previous wheelchair-lift experience is required. If you have strong mechanical fundamentals, a positive attitude and enjoy working out how things operate, we’ll help you build the specialised knowledge you need.
What’s in it for you?
- Leave the repetitive workshop routine behind and work at a variety of customer sites
- Enjoy greater variety and independence in your working day
- Build specialist skills in hydraulics, auto electrical systems and access equipment
- Work on wheelchair lifts, hoists, steps, restraints and vehicle systems
- Receive practical, structured training from an experienced team
- Use a fully equipped mobile service vehicle
- Work primarily with organised fleet customers
- Join a new division where your ideas and experience can make a real difference
- Develop a specialised career path as the mobile operation grows
What you’ll be doing
- Completing scheduled mobile servicing and safety inspections
- Servicing wheelchair lifts and vehicle-access equipment
- Carrying out routine vehicle servicing where required
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Identifying required repairs, parts and follow-up work
- Completing clear service records and job reports
- Building positive, professional relationships with fleet customers
- Helping establish efficient processes for Avanco’s new mobile service operation
About you You don’t need to be a hydraulic expert. We’re looking for a reliable mechanic with solid fundamentals, a practical mindset and the motivation to learn.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- A light vehicle, heavy vehicle or similar trade qualification
- Strong general mechanical and fault-finding skills
- A willingness to learn hydraulic and electrical systems
- The confidence to work independently at customer sites
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Pride in your workmanship and attention to safety
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- Basic confidence using a phone or tablet to complete job reports
About Avanco Avanco provides vehicle servicing, repairs and is a leader in specialised vehicle-access solutions. We’re building a professional mobile service division to support fleet operators, disability-service providers and organisations that depend on safe, reliable wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
Joining now means you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the division from the beginning, develop valuable specialist skills and grow with the business.

If you’re ready to move beyond repetitive workshop servicing and build a more diverse, independent career, we’d like to hear from you.
