NDIS Operations and Business Development Manager
Salary: $100, 000 - $120,000/year + Attractive Bonus as well

About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, you will oversee the organisation’s daily operations and drive business development activities to strengthen referral pathways, welcome new NDIS participants and broaden service delivery.
This position suits a proactive leader who can manage operational demands, build productive stakeholder relationships and identify opportunities for sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily NDIS operations, ensuring consistent and effective service delivery.
- Maintain compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.
- Coordinate participant intake, service agreements, care planning and ongoing support delivery.
- Supervise Support Coordinators, Support Workers and administration staff.
- Evaluate participant outcomes and maintain high service standards.
- Develop, review and implement operational policies and procedures.
- Oversee incident reporting, complaints handling and risk management.
- Prepare operational reports to support management decisions.
- Improve internal systems, workflows and business processes.
- Uphold privacy, work health and safety (WHS), and safeguarding requirements.
Business Development
- Design and implement strategies to attract new participants and grow services.
- Establish and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, allied health professionals, Support Coordinators, Local Area Coordinators (LACs), Plan Managers, community organisations and government agencies.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Assess opportunities to introduce additional NDIS services.
- Deliver presentations and participate in networking activities.
- Oversee digital marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives.
- Build strategic partnerships that support organisational growth.
- Strengthen the organisation’s profile and visibility across NSW.
- Prepare business development plans and forecasts.
Participant Engagement and Onboarding Take responsibility for participant growth and a smooth onboarding experience by:
- Achieving agreed referral targets.
- Conducting initial intake interviews.
- Preparing and coordinating service agreements.
- Managing the onboarding process from initial enquiry to commencement of services.
- Developing trusted relationships with participants and their families.
- Responding promptly to enquiries from referral partners.
- Achieving strong conversion rates from enquiries to active participants.
Leadership
- Guide, support and mentor multidisciplinary teams.
- Build a positive, collaborative and accountable workplace culture.
- Manage staff recruitment, training and ongoing development.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Encourage continuous improvement across all areas of the organisation.
Essential Selection Criteria To be considered, applicants must demonstrate:
- At least three years of experience in NDIS operations.
- A proven record in business development within the disability sector.
- Demonstrated success in attracting and onboarding NDIS participants.
- Sound knowledge of NDIS legislation, Practice Standards and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.
- A solid understanding of Support Coordination, Supported Independent Living (SIL), Community Participation and Capacity Building supports.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Strong leadership and staff management experience.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience developing business strategies and delivering against growth targets.
- Strong organisational skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- Well-developed analytical and report-writing skills.
Desirable Criteria The following will be highly regarded:
- An established referral network within the disability sector.
- Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) and NDIS management systems, preferably ShiftCare.
- Experience in marketing and digital business development.
- Previous involvement in setting up new NDIS services.
- Qualifications in Business, Health, Community Services, Social Work, Nursing or a related field.

- Growth in the number of active NDIS participants.
- Achievement of monthly participant onboarding targets.
- Expansion of referral networks and partnerships.
