The Nurse Manager, Business Planning provides strategic nursing leadership and expert advice across Children’s Health Queensland (CHQ), leading organisation-wide business planning, governance, performance monitoring and service improvement. The role coordinates the annual business planning cycle, ensures alignment between strategic priorities, operational objectives and workforce planning, and provides specialist advice on nursing workforce matters, including industrial relations, award interpretation and workforce planning. Working closely with Nursing Services, divisional and executive stakeholders, the position supports informed decision-making, organisational capability and sustainable service outcomes.
About The Team The CHQ Learning and Workforce Division includes nursing education, research and workforce development. Providing:
- Nursing leadership for all aspects of the Business Planning Framework (BPF) process, workforce management and recruitment.
- Educational leadership in the design, implementation and evaluation of education programs and provision of paediatric expertise related to educational issues.
- Leading research programs that build capacity for nursing research, translate research findings into practice, contribute to the development of evidence-based care and compete for peer reviewed research grants.
About The Role The Nurse Manager, Business Planning provides strategic leadership, coordination and expert advice to support the planning, development, implementation and continuous improvement of Children's Health Queensland's Business Planning Framework.
The role leads organisation-wide business planning processes to ensure alignment between strategic priorities, operational objectives, workforce planning and performance outcomes. Working collaboratively with Nursing Services leadership, divisional and executive stakeholders, the position provides expert nursing and organisational leadership in the areas of business planning, governance, performance monitoring and service improvement. The role contributes to the achievement of CHQ strategic objectives through the provision of high-quality analysis, reporting, planning advice and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Nurse Manager, Business Planning is responsible for leading and coordinating the annual business planning cycle across CHQ and provides specialist advice and support to Nursing Services in relation to nursing workforce matters, including industrial relations, award interpretation and workforce planning. The role works in partnership with Nursing Services and other key stakeholders to enhance organisational capability, support informed decision-making and drive effective and sustainable service outcomes.
