Your new role:

Take the lead in the Central Sterilising Department at QEII Hospital, supporting the safe, reliable reprocessing of reusable medical devices and contributing to high-quality patient outcomes.

Provide advanced nursing leadership and operational management across the Central Sterilising Department, supporting approximately 21 FTE.

Lead contemporary human, material and financial resource management, including budget and cost centre responsibilities.

Drive quality, risk management, benchmarking and continuous improvement while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and accreditation requirements.

Foster a culture of education, workforce development, evidence-based practice, research and innovation across the service.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced nursing leader who can combine advanced clinical knowledge with strong operational, financial and people management skills.

You are a Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

You bring advanced knowledge of nursing and sterilising services, with previous Central Sterilising Department or perioperative experience highly desirable.

You demonstrate robust leadership, change management and communication skills, with the ability to engage teams and influence positive practice change.

You can apply evidence-based practice, quality improvement, project management and service redesign principles to improve service outcomes.

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.

We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
