OPEN-CUT COAL MINE OPERATORS (Bloomfield Mine)
About The Role The Bloomfield Group is seeking multiple experienced Open Cut Coal Mine Operators to join the team at Bloomfield Mine, Ashtonfield, in permanent full-time positions.
Operators play a key role in achieving safe and productive mining operations by working safely, taking ownership of their performance, and applying their skills and experience to meet operational targets.
Successful applicants will operate within a range of large mining equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, blast hole drills and dump trucks.
These positions are available on either day shift or afternoon shift rosters working Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy mining equipment in accordance with operational requirements and site procedures.
- Achieve production targets while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
- Complete pre-start inspections and required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with production and maintenance personnel regarding equipment performance, defects and breakdowns.
- Work collaboratively with team members to resolve operational issues.
- Demonstrate a high standard of housekeeping and equipment care.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
- Experience in an open cut coal mining setting
- Demonstrated experience operating at least two of the following pieces of equipment - dump truck, excavator, dozer, loader, grader, and drill
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Current NSW Driver’s License
Desirable Criteria
- Experience operating Excavators or Dozers
