Where you'll be working

Northern Beaches Hospital features 486 beds, 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, a state-of-the-art theatre complex, world-class education centre, and excellent staff facilities including café and secure on site car parking The Interventional Suite accommodates adult & paediatrics patients for planned & unplanned procedures &/or surgery. It comprises of 14 state of the art operating theatres including a Hybrid theatre; 2 Cardiac Catheter Labs, 4 procedure rooms, 41 bed recovery unit, Anaesthetics Service and state of the art Sterilising Services Department. The service currently operates 7 days, 06:00 to 21:00hrs.

NBH's perioperative suites are modern, purpose-built environments designed to support safe, efficient, and high-quality care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

What you'll be doing

As an Operations Assistant you will make an impact by:

-Cleaning all areas of the Interventional suite whilst maintaining a high standard of hygiene as applicable to ACORN and Infection Prevention and Control standards and according to cleaning procedures and policies at NBH

-Accountable for providing safe effective patient handling and positioning of patients

-Responsible for the safe transport of patients, specimens, equipment and sundry items within and to and from the Interventional suite

-Cleaning duties as assigned, and as according to daily, weekly and periodic schedules, including general cleaning, terminal cleaning of theatres and surrounding areas.

-The role will also provide support for the nursing team in the interventional area.





This position is hands on and requires a high level of physical work.

1. Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
2. Ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.

4. Capacity to work under supervision and/or independently and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective team member.
5. Must be able to fulfil the physical requirements of the position.
