Our client BAUER GMBH (Australia) is seeking to add an Electrical Engineer to its Laverton North operations.
Bauer is a global agricultural engineering organisation delivering advanced irrigation, slurry and wastewater management solutions.
The successful applicant will contribute to the design, testing, commissioning and ongoing improvement of electrical systems supporting cutting-edge, efficient and sustainable agricultural equipment for customers worldwide.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics and circuit diagrams using AutoCAD and appropriate engineering standards.
- Review site plans and evaluate electrical load requirements for irrigation and associated equipment.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of irrigation machines in accordance with applicable Australian electrical standards.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults affecting pivot, Centerliner and lateral irrigation systems.
- Configure, calibrate and optimise automated irrigation equipment using Smart Rain and related control platforms.
- Determine suitable electrical components, cables, connectors and control equipment for engineering applications.
- Verify motor rotation, alignment, electrical connections and operational performance during equipment commissioning.
- Develop electrical designs and wiring arrangements meeting technical specifications and operational requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, engineering drawings, reports and records supporting electrical projects and installations.
- Perform electrical testing to verify continuity, reliability,
safety and correct equipment configuration.
- Support installation and commissioning activities at customer, dealer and project sites when required.
- Interpret engineering specifications, drawings, standards and regulations relating to electrical equipment and systems.
- Assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis and corrective actions to minimise equipment downtime.
- Coordinate electrical project activities, materials and technical requirements with internal teams, dealers and customers.
- Provide technical guidance and operational training relating to electrical equipment, safety and routine maintenance.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 12 months' recent, directly relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely comparable engineering role.
- Demonstrated experience preparing electrical drawings, schematics and circuit diagrams using AutoCAD or comparable engineering design software.
- Practical experience testing, commissioning and troubleshooting electrical equipment, control systems, motors and associated electrical installations.
- Sound working knowledge of applicable Australian electrical standards, safety requirements and engineering practices relevant to electrical installations.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings and electrical requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Experience with automated control systems, irrigation equipment, motor control or comparable industrial electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Strong technical problem-solving, documentation, communication and project coordination skills with the ability to support field-based engineering activities.
