Garden Village Port Macquarie

Port Macquarie

Shape how a much-loved, 40-year-old not-for-profit grows and develops its people.

Garden Village has cared for the Port Macquarie community for more than 40 years. As a registered not-for-profit, we provide aged care, retirement living and community services, and our people are the heart of that work. We’re investing in how we grow, lead, engage and recognise them and this is a newly shaped role for someone who loves building people programs and seeing them make a real difference on the ground.

About the role

Working alongside our HR Business Partner, Health and Safety team and Clinical Nurse Educator, and reporting to the Chief People & Culture Officer, the Organisational Development Business Partner leads the programs that build capability, strengthen leadership, lift engagement and recognise outstanding work across Garden Village. It’s a hands-on, build-and-embed role. Some priorities are here and now; others will mature over time. You’ll bring contemporary OD thinking and make it practical for a busy, largely frontline workforce. Your work will span:

- Uplifting our performance and development program, and coaching managers and teams for performance and excellence.
- Refreshing the employee experience - orientation, a bi-monthly welcome program, onboarding and a thoughtful offboarding experience.
- Designing an enterprise training needs analysis and a professional development program (outside clinical education).
- Building a manager and leadership development framework, programs and toolkits, in partnership with the HR Business Partner.
- Strengthening our engagement and listening program (annual survey, pulse surveys and informal channels) and turning insight into action.
- Uplifting reward and recognition - service awards, excellence awards and a calendar of days of significance and celebration.
- Designing a talent and succession framework for business-critical roles, and supporting strategic workforce planning and talent pipelines with education and community partners.

- Developing and coordinating our valued Volunteers Program.

About you

You’re an experienced organisational development, learning and development or senior people-partnering professional who has designed and embedded programs that change how an organisation works. You’re a natural coach and facilitator, you build trust quickly at every level, and you know how to turn strategy into practical things that stick.

You’ll bring

- Demonstrated OD, L&D; or senior generalist experience with an OD focus.
- A track record across performance, capability, engagement, recognition or talent and succession.
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills, and the ability to influence without authority.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, organisational psychology, adult education or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- A National Police Check (and any screening required by policy and legislation).

Experience in aged care, health, community services or another values-driven, frontline environment, coaching accreditation, or accreditation in profiling tools would be well regarded - but they’re not essential.

Why Garden Village

- A genuinely purposeful role with a respected local not-for-profit.
- The scope to build - this is your agenda to shape and embed.
- A supportive People & Culture team and a close partnership with our HR Business Partner.
- Flexible working options by negotiation, based in beautiful Port Macquarie on the NSW Mid North Coast.

How to apply

Please submit your CV and a short cover letter telling us why this role and Garden Village appeal to you. Applications close Friday 25th September 2026. We’ll review applications as they arrive, so please don’t wait to apply.
