The Opportunity

Maribyrnong City Council is seeking a passionate and capable Organisational Development Officer to join our People, Culture & Performance team on a temporary full-time basis until 20 August 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a broad range of organisational development, learning and employee engagement initiatives that support the growth and success of our workforce. Working closely with the Coordinator Organisational Development, you will help design and deliver learning programs, develop engaging e-learning content, coordinate organisation-wide initiatives and provide support for the systems and processes that underpin workforce capability and development.

We are open to applicants from all sectors and welcome expressions of interest from employees of other local government organisations seeking a secondment or temporary development opportunity. A secondment arrangement may be considered for the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop engaging e-learning and learning resources for Council employees.
- Coordinate and support organisation-wide learning, capability and organisational development initiatives.
- Facilitate training sessions, workshops and other development activities.
- Administer and continuously improve systems and frameworks that support learning, compliance, capability development and employee growth.




- Coordinate activities that promote employee engagement, inclusion and organisational performance.
- Provide high-quality project, administrative and stakeholder support across a range of organisational development programs and services.
- Act as a key point of contact for organisational development enquiries and build productive relationships across Council.

About You You are an organised, cooperative and proactive professional who enjoys creating meaningful learning experiences and supporting positive organisational outcomes. You can balance multiple priorities, build strong relationships and work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

- Relevant tertiary qualification (HR, organisational development, workforce capability, TAE, behavioural sciences or similar), or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting organisation-wide projects and initiatives from planning through to delivery and evaluation.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong project coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering quality outcomes.
