As an Outfitting Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, integration, and delivery of maritime capability within a complex Defence environment. Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will be responsible for developing practical engineering solutions that support the installation and integration of mission-critical equipment, systems, and infrastructure on maritime platforms.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile Defence projects, ensuring that platform designs are safe, functional, maintainable, and fit for purpose. You will work closely with stakeholders across engineering, project management, and sustainment teams to deliver innovative solutions that support operational capability.

What will I be doing day to day?

- Develop and review outfitting designs for maritime platforms.
- Design equipment foundations, mounting arrangements, and support structures.
- Coordinate the integration of mechanical and structural systems.
- Produce and review engineering documentation, drawings, and technical reports.
- Participate in design reviews and technical assurance activities.
- Work closely with Defence stakeholders, suppliers, and engineering teams.
- Support platform modifications and engineering change activities.
- Conduct assessments to ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards.
- Assist with testing, commissioning, and verification of installed equipment.
- Identify technical risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Ensure maintainability,



accessibility, and operability are considered throughout the design process.

What sort of skills do I need?

- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience within maritime, Defence, shipbuilding, or complex engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design and equipment integration.
- Experience developing engineering documentation and technical reports.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Knowledge of engineering assurance, verification, and certification processes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience managing technical risks and engineering change processes.
- Australian citizenship and a minimum Baseline security clearance (NV1 preferred).
