The Painter/Blaster is responsible for carrying out painting, coating and sandblasting activities, as well as surface preparation, equipment handling and any other tasks associated with painting and coating works.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

- Prepare surfaces for painting and coating by cleaning, sanding, scraping, brushing, etching and sandblasting as required. Remove old paint, wallpaper and other surface coatings, and repair cracks, holes and damaged surfaces.
- Perform sandblasting and other surface preparation activities in accordance with relevant procedures and safety requirements.
- Apply paints, varnished , stains and protective coatings.
- Conduct texting and inspection procedures as required to ensure completed work complies with relevant procedure, specifications and standards.

Polaris Engineering are looking for self-motivated painter/ blaster to join our versatile close-knit team at our Henderson base with FIFO opportunities as well. We are a steel fabrication business with a dedicated surface treatment facility at our Henderson workshop that provides ISO 9001 certified quality surface treatment and protective coatings for clients in the construction, mining resource, and industrial sectors.

Skills, Experience and Role Requirements:

- Skilled spray painters / blasters with experience in surface treatment of mining and industrial equipment / structures.
- Knowledge of abrasive blasting
- Drivers License (manual and or automatic)
- Working at Heights (within 2 years)
- EWP ticket
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to secure work practices
- Reliability and punctuality
