Primary objective To provide an efficient, patient centred service to approved clients accessing the Patient Assistance Travel Scheme. The position coordinates cost effective travel arrangements for clients in accordance with the Patient Travel guidelines.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Arrange, logistically challenging, air, ground transport and accommodation requirements for eligible Patient Travel clients who
require assistance both locally,
intra and interstate in a timely manner and in accordance with the PATS guidelines
- Provide support to patients and families accessing the PATS to understand their entitlements within the Patient Travel guidelines.
- Complete all travel and accommodation arrangement details in the Travel Management System, ensuring data remains accurate and current at all times.
- Raise accounts/warrants for payment through the TMS, checking for conformity to the PATS Guidelines while adhering to
Northern Territory Government Procurement requirements.
- Provide support and education to Hospital, Remote and Non-Governmental Organisation personnel in relation to PATS guidelines together with roles and responsibilities of the various people participating in the scheme.
- Provide an effective and effective patient support service by co-operating with fellow Patient Travel team members to meet daily service demands and support co-ordinated client care with the flexibility to cover administrative duties that make up the
Transport Logistics unit administration team.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to facilitate the delivery of high-quality customer services, including well-developed verbal, written
communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience in organising travel and accommodation in an acute services setting or similar duties.
- Proven ability to organise and prioritise workload; to complete tasks and meet deadlines with a high level of confidentiality and accuracy in high pressure environment.
- Proven ability to use a wide range of computer software packages with demonstrated knowledge and experience in government electronic systems or comparable systems (Records Management Systems, TMS, Clinical applications software, Accounting
Systems).
1. Demonstrated work ethic with the ability to apply initiative and achieve positive outcomes in a cost-effective manner.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of the Patient Assistance Travel Scheme and client service experience in a health environment
