The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team based at our Perth depot.
This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with a minimum of 2 years’ payroll experience to join a supportive team and play an important role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time.
You’ll be working with PayGlobal initially, so experience with the system will be highly regarded. As we continue our transition to Dayforce, you’ll also have the opportunity to be trained and upskilled on the new system as part of this exciting transformation.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in getting the detail right and wants to build their payroll career within a growing national business.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll accurately and efficiently within required deadlines
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure payroll data is kept up to date
- Manage payroll enquiries from employees and provide timely and professional support
- Ensure payroll processing complies with relevant legislation, awards and company policies
- Process new starters, terminations, leave, allowances, deductions and other payroll changes
- Complete payroll reconciliations and assist with payroll reporting
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues
- Work closely with HR and other internal stakeholders to ensure payroll information is accurate
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and payroll information
- Support the transition from PayGlobal to Dayforce, including system testing, training and implementation activities
About You We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and highly detail-oriented, with a genuine interest in payroll.
You will ideally have
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a payroll role
- Experience processing payroll in a medium to large organisation
- PayGlobal experience highly regarded
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good understanding of payroll processes, compliance and relevant legislation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new payroll systems and processes
