Green Leaves Early Learning
Queensland
Permanent - Full Time
Support Office, QLD
At Green Leaves Early Learning, our People & Culture team is continuing to evolve how we partner with our business. With around 70 early learning Centres across Australia and a national Support Office in Brisbane, our environment is fast-paced, operational and wonderfully varied.
We’re looking for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join our team in Brisbane.
This opportunity comes with a unique first chapter. For approximately your first six months, you’ll step into our Employee Relations Specialist role as parental leave cover, taking the lead on complex employee relations matters and supporting our P&C; team and leaders across the business.
Following this period, you’ll transition into your ongoing People & Culture Business Partner position, where you’ll take ownership of an allocated portfolio and work closely with leaders across the full breadth of the people agenda.
It’s a great opportunity for an experienced P&C; generalist who enjoys ER, but doesn’t want to be confined to it.
The opportunity
Our Business Partners are true generalists. You’ll be close to the business, connected to your stakeholders and involved in everything from the complex issues that need navigating today through to the proactive people work that helps our leaders and teams perform at their best tomorrow.
We’re continuing to strengthen the partnership between P&C; and Operations, moving beyond simply responding to people matters and increasingly working alongside our leaders to build capability, identify opportunities and risks early, and deliver practical people solutions.
Our stakeholders value having P&C; alongside them, and genuine relationships matter here. You’ll have the opportunity to understand your portfolio, know your leaders and become a trusted partner they turn to for advice, coaching and perspective.
Your first six months – Employee Relations Specialist
Initially, you’ll provide parental leave cover in our ER Specialist role, working across the organisation on more complex employee relations matters.
You’ll lead and support matters including workplace investigations, grievances, misconduct, performance and conduct management, disciplinary processes and other sensitive or higher-risk employee matters.
You’ll also work closely with our P&C; Business Partners, providing specialist ER guidance and helping ensure our approach is fair, consistent, commercially pragmatic and legally sound.
Then – your P&C; Business Partner portfolio
As you transition into the BP role, your scope will broaden considerably.
You’ll become the primary P&C; partner for your allocated portfolio, supporting leaders across areas including:
- employee and industrial relations, investigations and performance management
- leadership coaching and capability building
- workforce planning and organisational change
- engagement, talent development and succession planning
- workplace health, safety, workers' compensation and injury management
- policy interpretation and employment compliance
- workforce insights, emerging people risks and proactive initiatives.
Importantly, you won't just manage issues as they arise. We want our BPs looking ahead – understanding what is happening across their portfolio, identifying themes and opportunities,
and partnering with leaders to strengthen capability and create high-performing, engaged teams.
About you
You’ll be an experienced P&C;/HR generalist with strong ER capability and the confidence to work with leaders through both complex people matters and broader business priorities.
You’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
- Strong HR generalist experience gained within a complex operational environment
- Well-developed employee and industrial relations expertise
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation, modern awards, enterprise agreements and compliance obligations
- Demonstrated experience managing complex ER matters, workplace investigations and formal performance processes
- Strong stakeholder management, coaching and influencing capability
- A practical, balanced and commercially minded approach to solving people challenges
- The ability to manage competing priorities and operate confidently in a fast-moving environment.
Most importantly, you’ll enjoy being a partner to the business. You’ll be comfortable getting into the detail when required, but equally motivated by the prospect to build relationships, coach leaders and help move P&C; further into proactive, capability-building work.
Why Green Leaves?
This is a role with genuine breadth and variety.
You’ll join a P&C; team where you can use your ER expertise immediately, while knowing your longer-term role offers much more than ER case management. You’ll have your own stakeholders, exposure to a broad range of people initiatives and the opportunity to influence how we continue strengthening P&C; partnering across Green Leaves.
If you’re looking for a generalist role where relationships matter, no two days look quite the same, and P&C; has a genuine seat alongside the business, we’d love to hear from you.
