We provide client services across areas within the Western Shore, Southern Midlands, Eastern Shore and surrounding suburbs so you'll enjoy short travel times and the satisfaction of supporting your own community.

You'll only need to drop in to replenish supplies or attend face‐to‐face training sessions at the Moonah or Sorell office, giving you the flexibility to focus on what matters most: your clients.

About the position
n
The District Nurses (TDN) is a long‐standing Tasmanian not‐for‐profit organisation dedicated to helping people live and age well in their own homes for as long as possible.
n
As a Community Support Worker, you will support our clients by:
n
n
- Providing support with personal care tasks such as bathing, showering, washing, dressing and grooming
n
- Offering companionship and social engagement to reduce isolation and build positive connections
n
- Complete accompanied grocery shopping and other appropriate errands as needed
n
- Perform general household tasks including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping
n
- Support clients with washing, drying, ironing, and folding clothes and linen
n
- Assist with meal preparation and light kitchen duties
n
n
About you
n
We're looking for someone who has:
n
n
- A genuine passion for supporting people in the community
n
- A commitment to empowering clients' choice, dignity and independence
n
- A client‐centred approach to care
n
- Basic technology skills (e.g. smartphone or tablet use)
n
- The physical capacity to perform a hands‐on role
n
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
n
n
Essential requirements
n
n
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing or Home & Community)
n
- A valid unrestricted driver licence and a registered, insured, roadworthy vehicle
n
- National Police Check
n
- Working with Vulnerable People Check (employee) with NDS endorsement
n
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
n
- Medication endorsement (highly desirable)
n
- Two professional referees - a Manager/Supervisor or Team Leader that you have reported to directly
n
