Cattery Supervisor (Permanent Part-Time – 4 Days per Week)

Help create brighter futures for cats in need. Our client is a not-for-profit animal shelter committed to providing outstanding care for homeless, abandoned and surrendered cats while helping them find loving forever homes.

We’re looking for a compassionate and organised Cattery Supervisor to oversee the daily operation of our Cattery rehoming and boarding facilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise the daily operation of the cattery.
- Oversee feeding, cleaning and enrichment routines.
- Monitor the health and wellbeing of cats and kittens.
- Administer medication where required.
- Ensure high standards of hygiene and infection control.
- Coordinate admissions and adoptions.
- Develop and implement adoption strategies.
- Support veterinary treatments and recovery care.
- Train, mentor and support staff and volunteers.
- Maintain accurate animal records.
- Assist visitors and potential adopters with selecting the right companion.
- Promote positive animal welfare practices.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures.





You’ll have:

- Experience working with cats in a shelter, veterinary clinic, boarding facility or similar setting preferred.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Compassion, patience and resilience.
- The ability to remain calm in a busy environment.
- A genuine commitment to animal welfare.

Essential Requirements

- Current C Class Driver Licence.
- Ability to safely lift up to 20kg.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays on a rotating roster.
- Physically capable of performing cleaning and manual handling tasks.

Desirable

- Certificate III or IV in Animal Care, or equivalent experience.
- Animal First Aid.
- Experience with neonatal kittens and foster programs.
- Medication administration experience.
- Knowledge of feline behaviour and enrichment.
