Pharmacy Assistant – Full-Time, Part-Time or Casual

Eisner’s Pharmacy is looking for a friendly, customer-focused and efficient Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Mansfield.

The position is flexible and may be offered as permanent full-time, permanent part-time or casual, depending on the right candidate.

Experience and hours can be flexible. What is most important to us is finding someone with the right approach: someone who genuinely enjoys helping customers, works efficiently and professionally, is willing to learn, and contributes to a supportive and positive working environment with their coworkers.

We welcome experienced pharmacy assistants, applicants with retail or customer-service experience, as well as people who are recent to pharmacy and keen to learn.

About the role

Responsibilities may include

- Welcoming customers and providing friendly, attentive and professional service

- Building rapport with regular customers and getting to know members of the local community

- Assisting customers with pharmacy, health, beauty and general retail products

- Answering telephone calls professionally and assisting with enquiries

- Operating the point-of-sale system and processing transactions accurately

- Receiving, unpacking and putting away stock





- Maintaining displays and keeping the pharmacy clean, organised and well presented

- Completing tasks accurately and efficiently and helping the pharmacy run smoothly

- Assisting with stock control, pricing and general pharmacy duties

- Supporting pharmacists and other team members when required

- Learning new skills and taking on additional responsibilities as your experience develops

Training and support will be provided, and the responsibilities of the position can be adapted according to the successful applicant’s experience, strengths and interests.

Training and development

Further formal training is completely optional and is not a requirement of the position.

For team members who would like to develop their skills further, there is the option for Eisner’s Pharmacy to fully fund a Certificate III in Community Pharmacy.

The qualification can also include a dispensary stream for those interested in developing the additional skills required to work as a Dispensary Technician.

This provides an opportunity for someone who is interested to develop a longer-term career in community pharmacy, while applicants who simply want to work as a Pharmacy Assistant are equally welcome.

About you

While previous experience is valuable, the qualities you bring to the team are more important to us than a particular level of pharmacy experience.

Previous pharmacy or retail experience would be helpful but is not essential. Applicants from other customer-service backgrounds who demonstrate the qualities above are strongly encouraged to apply.
