Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital
As Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in the provision of pharmacy services to patients, external organisations, and other hospital caregivers by providing technical support to pharmacists.
The role is offered on a Permanent full-time basis, working 38 hours per week The Position:
- Prepare, label, record and assist in the sterile compounding of medications, including cytotoxic drugs and total parenteral nutrition, under pharmacist supervision.
- Manage ordering, receipt, storage and inventory control of pharmaceuticals and consumables, ensuring correct stock rotation and expiry checking across wards and departments.
- Support dispensing, imprest distribution and delivery of pharmaceuticals—including restricted and Schedule 8 medicines—while maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Assist with quality assurance, statistical reporting, charging processes, recycling of returned medicines and recovery of owing prescriptions.
- Maintain pharmacy operations through equipment cleaning, extemporaneous manufacturing, emergency cupboard management, reception support and relief in senior technician roles as required.
You will be familiar with the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and dispensing procedures. You will also be familiar with or be prepared to undertake training on preparation of cytotoxic medications.
To succeed you will have well developed verbal and written communication skills and a knowledge of medication terminology. You will have excellent time management skills and the ability to work unsupervised to meet deadlines. You will be required to demonstrate attention to detail, instructions and work procedures with the ability to document accurately and neatly.
Possession of or progress towards Certificate IV Medical Technicians and Assistants (Pharmacy) or equivalent will be highly regarded.

- Salary: $74,627 to $85,129 plus 12% superannuation
