We are seeking an experienced Pipe Welder / Fabricator to join our workshop team in Braeside, Victoria.
This role involves pipe fabrication and welding across carbon steel and stainless steel systems within a modern workshop environment. You will have exposure to advanced fabrication technologies including robotic welding systems and laser cutting equipment.
The majority of work is factory-based, with occasional onsite projects requiring confident field welding capability.
This is a stable, long-term opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who demonstrates strong technical ability, initiative, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit, align, and assemble pipe components using clamps, jigs, and fixtures
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications
- Measure, mark, and prepare materials for cutting and welding
- Perform welding using MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW)
- Weld carbon steel and stainless steel pipe to high quality standards
- Assist with setup and operation of robotic welding systems
- Work alongside laser cutting equipment and assist with basic troubleshooting where required
- Complete weld finishing (grinding, dressing, and clean-up)
- Conduct in-process and final weld quality checks
- Support general metal fabrication duties
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
- Perform onsite welding work when required
Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of pipe welding and fabrication experience
- Strong background in carbon steel and stainless steel welding
- Proficient in MIG and TIG welding processes
- Welding certifications required (you will be required to pass a weld procedure)
- Ability to interpret fabrication and engineering drawings
- Experience with robotic welding systems and/or laser cutting equipment advantageous (training provided)
- High attention to detail and robust quality standards
- Ability to work independently and show initiative
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Confidence performing onsite welding work
Remuneration
- $40–$45 per hour + superannuation (based on experience)
- Overtime opportunities available
- Immediate start available

- Full-time availability (Monday–Friday)
- Willingness to work overtime when required
- Valid Australian working rights
- Physically capable of workshop-based fabrication work
