Diggermate Canberra is looking for a reliable and hands-on Workshop Hand to join our growing team. We specialise in mini excavator hire and pride ourselves on providing well-maintained equipment and great customer service.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with machinery and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

About the Role

You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our workshop, including:

- Maintenance and servicing of mini excavators and attachments
- Preparing equipment for hire (cleaning, checking, basic repairs)
- Assisting with machine operation and yard organisation
- Light metal fabrication and basic welding tasks
- Complete operator wet hire work as required.

What We’re Looking For

- Experience in machine operation and maintenance (essential)




- Basic metal fabrication / welding skills
- Mechanically minded with strong problem-solving ability
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Physically fit and comfortable in a hands-on environment
- Valid driver’s licence (essential)

Work Conditions

- Early morning starts required
- Occasional weekend work as needed
- Full-time / casual position (flexible depending on candidate)
