Schedule

7:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday and 7:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday extra hours may be required.

Qualifications

- Completion of a Certificate III in Plumbing or equivalent with a valid NT plumbing license
- A valid white card for working on construction sites.
- Experience in high rise residential or commercial plumbing.

Tasks

Installation Tasks

- Installing water heaters and heat pumps.
- Fitting pipes for kitchens, bathrooms, and laundries.
- Setting up rainwater tanks and greywater systems.
- Putting in new sinks, toilets, and showers.

Maintenance and Repair Tasks

- Finding and fixing leaks in pipes or taps.
- Clearing blocked drains using high-pressure water jets or snakes.
- Repairing burst pipes under ground or inside walls.
- Servicing hot water units to keep them running well.

Drainage and Roofing Tasks

- Installing guttering and downpipes.
- Fixing roof leaks and flashings.
- Maintaining septic tanks and sewerage systems.
- Laying underground drainage pipes for recent buildings.

Skills required

Technical Skills





- Ability to read and follow blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of different pipe materials like PVC, copper, and PEX.
- Skill in welding, soldering, and brazing.
- Understanding of hydraulic principles.
- Install and maintain water, gas, and drainage systems.
- Find and fix faults in existing plumbing.
- Read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Make sure all work meets the Plumbing Code of Australia.

Soft Skills

- Good communication with clients and other trades.
- Problem-solving when a leak is hard to find.
- Time management to finish jobs on schedule.
- Attention to detail to prevent future leaks.

Things to know

- Amenities and tools provided on site, welcome to use own tools.
- PPE provided
- No dedicated company vehicle, vehicle for completion of works can be provided as required
- Pay is fortnightly
- Although highly unlikely when plumbing works cannot progress, other works may be undertaken relating to the construction works.
