Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Portfolio and Project Finance Associate role based in Sydney, NSW. The associate will support the evaluation, structuring, and execution of project and portfolio financings across GIP’s infrastructure investments, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and transaction support.

Daily responsibilities include preparing investment committee materials, conducting due diligence with internal teams and external advisors, monitoring existing portfolio financings, and supporting refinancing and capital structure optimization initiatives. The role also involves coordinating with lenders, legal counsel, and other stakeholders, tracking market developments in project and infrastructure finance, and contributing to internal reporting and performance reviews. The associate will collaborate closely with investment, asset management, and risk teams to ensure robust financing solutions aligned with GIP’s strategic and decarbonization objectives.

Qualifications





- Strong analytical skills and financial modeling capabilities, including proficiency in Excel and familiarity with project finance structures.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly in written and verbal formats.
- Proven project management abilities to coordinate multiple workstreams, meet deadlines, and support transaction execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in conducting research and market analysis related to infrastructure, energy, or project finance; ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
- Capability to support training and knowledge sharing within the team, including contributing to internal frameworks, tools, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, business, or a related discipline; advanced degree or qualified qualification (e.g., CFA, CA, MBA) is an advantage.
- Prior experience in project finance, investment banking, infrastructure investing, or corporate finance, ideally with exposure to energy transition or large-scale assets.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and commitment to ethical, inclusive, and collaborative work practices.
