Join us in a pivotal principal advisory role supporting the Director Health, Safety and Security Assurance (HSSA) to drive strategic priorities across a complex and diverse national organisation.

As Principal Advisor, you will lead significant pieces of work, provide trusted advice to senior leaders, and coordinate strategic responses across the HSSA business unit. This role offers the chance to influence organisational direction, support governance and assurance activities, and contribute to strengthening health, safety and security outcomes across Te Tāhū o te Ture.

In This Role You Will

- Lead strategic projects and business improvement initiatives

- Provide high-quality advice to senior leaders and governance forums

- Develop reports, briefings and papers for Ministers and stakeholders

- Coordinate business planning, risk management and governance activities

- Build strong relationships across the Ministry and wider justice sector

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will

- Experience supporting governance and executive forums

- Bring extensive senior advisory experience

- Demonstrate exceptional written and analytical skills

- Build credibility with senior leaders and stakeholders

- Understand public sector decision-making processes

- Show commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Māori

The Following Would Be Advantageous

- Experience within health, safety or security environments
- A project management qualification
- A health and safety qualification or equivalent experience

Utu ā-Tau/Salary The remuneration band for this role is $130,129 to $179,192. The appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
