About the role

We are looking for the best-in-class Senior Contract Administrators ideally with backgrounds in Water Infrastructure Projects other infrastructure and/or Construction Projects. We need your skills and expertise to help Sydney Water deliver a $30 billion dollar investment program over the next 10 years to build, maintain and protect the future of our iconic water resources. In this role, the Senior Contract Administrator will work in partnership with the Planning Partners & Design Development Partners, contribute to the development and managing of contracts with suppliers of goods & services within the multi-billion dollar nominated Program Delivery portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

- Manage the administration of major design and engineering consultancy services contracts within the Infrastructure Delivery frameworks.
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams and key stakeholders.
- Lead the assessment and negotiation of contract variations, claims, and commercial disputes.
- Monitor contractor performance, compliance, and contract obligations to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks across projects.
- Prepare commercial reports, recommendations, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal project teams to achieve project objectives.
- Support procurement, tender evaluation, and contract award processes.

About You You are an experienced contract and commercial professional with a strong background in construction and infrastructure projects. You bring expertise in contract administration, commercial risk management, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to navigate complex contractual matters and drive positive project outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:





Relevant degree qualification (e.g. Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Construction Law, Engineering, Business) or experience deemed equivalent. Professional MRICs or equivalent qualification

- Strong stakeholder management skills with multiple stakeholders and in particular external suppliers,
- Strong communication skill with ability to convene complex commercial matters through reports and presentations and strong understanding of construction law.
- Strong teamwork capability with appreciation of intricacies of matrix organisations.
- 5+ years’ contract and commercial management experience in construction and infrastructure projects in a large complex organisation, preferably in a similar organisation or industry sector,
- Relevant work experience for Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors in addition to client side,
- Strong understanding of construction transaction and delivery models
- Demonstrated experience in partnering with the business in effective contract and commercial management,
- Ability to partner closely with the business while maintaining a degree of functional independence
