About
Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.
Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony. The mine's workforce consists of over 250 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

About The Role
Reporting to the Processing Shift Supervisor, we are seeking Processing Shift Supervisor 2IC. If you have more than 3 years’ experience in plant processing and want career progression to a Shift Supervisor2IC, but don’t like the idea of FIFO, then this opportunity will uncover a whole new journey for you!
The key responsibilities of the role include:
· Leading from the front by actively participating in day-to-day operational activities while supporting the Supervisor to deliver production targets through effective work allocation, crew coordination, and operational planning
· Acting as a trusted second-in-charge, providing leadership support and stepping into supervisory responsibilities when required.
· Assisting with accurate and timely completion of shift reports and operational documentation.
· Maintaining a safe, productive, and compliant work workplace in accordance with site policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
· Assisting with daily pre-start meetings, participating in risk assessments, and assisting with incident investigations and corrective actions.
· Supporting the effective management of individual and team performance by identifying challenges, implementing solutions, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders where required.
· Promoting strong communication, teamwork, and safety leadership across the operation.
About You
We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused 2IC who takes pride and thrives in a hands-on mining environment. You will be a reliable team player with strong leadership skills.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Commitment to safe and sustainable mining operations.
- 3+ years direct experience in Processing Operations and progressing to a 2IC role, particularly in crushing circuit, grinding, flotation, reagent mixing and Filter press.
- Knowledge of VIC mine regulations and production best practice.
- Experience with production processing systems.
- Ability to manage and motivate processing crews.
- Ability to provide mentoring support to team members and colleagues.
- Personal drive and energy to contribute to our dynamic workplace culture.
