About Block Earner

Block Earner is a Sydney-based crypto lending business. We let people borrow against the crypto they hold, without selling it, and we run the same lending engine behind the scenes for other financial businesses.

We are an innovative team with a bias to ship. Crypto-backed credit is current territory in Australia, and most of what we build is being designed for the first time. We take on the harder version of a product, including being one of very few crypto businesses here to do it as a licensed credit provider, put it in front of real customers, and keep moving. Where there is no precedent, we make one.

Backed by crypto and DeFi veteran founders, and small enough that everyone's work is visible.

Our Track Record

- ? Australian Credit Licence holder, lending under the consumer credit regime
- ? Named a winner nine times by Australia's leading fintech bodies since 2024, most recently for Excellence in Consumer Lending
- ? Our lending platform powers crypto-backed products for other Australian financial businesses
- ? Live in Australia, expanding internationally

Location

This role is based in Sydney, working three days a week in the office and two from home.

The Role

We are growing the product team and looking for a Product Manager to own execution.

You will work alongside our product lead to shape what we build and how it should behave, in those conversations from the start. From there you take it forward: you stay across the detail, keep engineering moving, and hold a product area together through everything that comes up along the way. As other parts of the business pull for attention, you are the person who keeps yours running.

Much of the job lives between a decision and a release, in the smaller calls made along the way: an edge case nobody anticipated, a scope call when an estimate blows out, whether a known issue is a launch blocker. Direction gets settled quickly here, so your time goes into making those calls well and moving the work forward.

The problems have real depth to them. Credit mechanics that have to be exactly right, regulatory obligations that shape what is possible to build,

and technology that spans blockchain infrastructure and traditional financial rails. These are problems that reward digging in. The people who do well here get curious about how something actually functions, keep pulling at it until they understand it, and then find a smarter way through.

You will start with one or two product areas and grow from there.

Focus Areas

- Work with the product lead on what we are building and why, then take it into something buildable: the problem defined, the edge cases worked out, the commercial, legal and regulatory input turned into requirements engineers can act on.
- Run the working relationship with engineering. Refinement, sequencing, the meetings that keep delivery moving, and the daily back and forth that turns a specification into a release.
- Make the day-to-day product calls, and record the reasoning behind them.
- Become one of the people who can explain our products properly, including on calls and in shared channels with the partner teams who build on our platform.
- Bring judgement about the customer experience. We build for retail customers, and someone needs to spot when a flow will make sense to them and when it needs another pass.
- Define success metrics and interrogate the data yourself to find friction and evidence for what to change next.

You will do well here if you like getting to the bottom of a complicated problem and turning it into something that ships.

Skills

- Proven experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner or Business Analyst on technically complex products or platforms. We care about what you have shipped and the calls you have made.
- Strong product instincts. We build for retail customers, and you can tell when a flow will land with a real person and when it needs more work.
- Able to write and run your own SQL,

and comfortable reasoning about how data is structured.
- A transparent communicator on the page and in the room. Most of our decisions live in specifications and documents, and you can explain product behaviour to a partner's team in plain language, on your own.
- Experience in financial services, payments, lending or another regulated environment is an advantage.
- A technical background is a significant advantage, and time spent as a developer before moving into product is close to ideal. You should be comfortable discussing feasibility and trade-offs with engineers, reading an API specification and following a sequence diagram.
- Practical fluency with AI tools, and a point of view on where they genuinely change how product work gets done.

Behaviours & Attributes

- Ownership: carries work through to the outcome, raises problems early, and wants to be in the detail of it.
- Problem solver: gets curious about how something actually functions and finds a smarter route through it.
- Decisive: comfortable making a call with imperfect information, explaining it, and revising it when better information arrives.
- Curious and open-minded: genuinely interested in how things work, keeps asking until it makes sense, and happy to be persuaded by a better idea.

Why Block Earner?

- A roadmap with real ambition behind it: new products in build, a plan that runs well beyond the next quarter, and much of it genuinely original work in a category still being defined.
- Learn from the best, from our crypto and DeFi veteran founders, and build a career in the emerging Web3 and blockchain industry.
- A competitive package including equity options in the company you help build.
- Flexible working hours and hybrid work options.

This role suits someone who enjoys building new things, finds the unknown energising, and wants the pace of a startup where the ambition is high and the path is still being drawn.

We're better together

- We are a small, culturally diverse team, and we know that different perspectives make our product better. If you meet most of what is listed here, we would still like to hear from you.
