Schnits Frozen Foods is a well-established, family-owned food manufacturing business based in Bibra Lake. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an organised and commercially aware Production & Materials Planner to coordinate production schedules, material requirements, purchasing and inventory levels.

This is a central role connecting Sales, Production, Warehouse, Quality and suppliers to ensure the right products and materials are available at the right time.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will translate customer demand and forecasts into achievable production plans, coordinate raw-material and packaging requirements, monitor purchasing and maintain appropriate stock levels. You will balance product availability with capacity, shelf life, lead times and working-capital considerations.

Key responsibilities

- Develop daily, weekly and longer-term production plans based on orders, forecasts, stock and capacity.
- Sequence production considering changeovers, allergens, cleaning, shelf life and delivery deadlines.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans for breakdowns, shortages and changing customer requirements.
- Calculate raw-material, ingredient and packaging requirements and raise purchase orders.
- Follow up suppliers regarding availability, deliveries, delays and discrepancies.
- Monitor raw materials, packaging, work in progress and finished-goods inventory.
- Maintain appropriate safety-stock, reorder and stock-rotation controls.
- Investigate stock variances and coordinate cycle counts and stocktakes.
- Communicate constraints, priorities and potential delays to relevant stakeholders.




- Maintain accurate planning, purchasing and inventory information and reporting.

Essential Requirements:

- Minimum three years' experience in production planning, materials planning, procurement, inventory control or a similar manufacturing role.
- Experience in food, FMCG, chilled or frozen manufacturing.
- Knowledge of shelf life, traceability, allergens and first-expired, first-out controls.
- Experience coordinating production schedules, material purchasing and inventory requirements.
- Strong numerical, analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience using ERP, production-planning or inventory systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across Sales, Production, Warehouse and Quality.

Desirable:

- Qualification in supply chain, procurement, logistics, business or manufacturing.
- APICS, CIPS, HACCP or related training.
