About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Operations Manager to join our team at our Molendinar, QLD facility on a full time basis. This is a strategic management position that will oversee all aspects of our glass and aluminium production operations. You will be responsible for optimising production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, ensuring workplace safety compliance, and leading a dedicated team to deliver exceptional results.

This role is pivotal to our operational success and directly impacts our ability to meet customer demands and maintain our competitive edge in the building trades industry.

Key responsibilities

- Manage daily production operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimisation across all production lines

- Monitor and maintain quality standards throughout the production process, implementing corrective actions when necessary to ensure compliance with industry specifications

- Oversee team performance and productivity, setting targets whilst providing support to production staff

- Ensure strict adherence to workplace health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety audits and implementing preventative measures

- Manage inventory and materials, coordinating with procurement to ensure efficient stock levels and timely delivery of supplies

- Maintain and coordinate maintenance schedules for production equipment,



liaising with maintenance teams to minimise downtime

- Implement process improvements and optimisation strategies to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance profitability

- Prepare and analyse production reports, providing regular updates to senior management on operational performance and identifying areas for improvement

- Liaise with sales and customer service teams to ensure production schedules align with customer requirements and delivery deadlines

- Manage budget expenditure and control costs without compromising quality or safety standards

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in production operations management, preferably within the glass, aluminium, or related manufacturing environments

- Strong knowledge of glass and aluminium production processes, materials, and equipment

- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, with experience in staff development and performance management

- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and best practices within a production setting

- Proficiency in production management systems and data analysis tools

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively across departments

- Relevant qualifications in production management, operations management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
