About the Electrical Trades Department The Electrical Trades department plays a key role in developing Victoria's future electrical workforce through industry-led training and solid partnerships with employers and industry stakeholders. Delivering Certificate II and III Electrical programs, the team is committed to providing practical, high-quality education that supports student success and industry needs.

About the Role

As Program Lead, you will provide leadership across the design, delivery, quality, and continuous improvement of Electrical Trades programs while supporting teachers to achieve outstanding learner outcomes. The role is responsible for managing teaching staff, scheduling resources, driving compliance and quality standards, and building strong industry relationships.

This is a hands-on leadership role that will suit someone who is highly self-sufficient, solutions-focused, and comfortable operating autonomously. While senior leadership support is available, you'll be trusted to make decisions, identify opportunities, and drive outcomes.

This role is based onsite in North Melbourne, five days per week. Secure employee parking is available onsite.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading and developing a growing team of electrical educators
- Building and maintaining partnerships with employers, industry bodies, and the broader electrical trade in Melbourne’s North
- Ensuring high-quality program delivery and compliance with VET requirements
- Supporting workforce planning, teacher allocation, and class scheduling
- Monitoring student outcomes and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Contributing to teaching activities when required




- Identifying growth opportunities and supporting future program expansion

What You'll Bring

- Trade qualification as a qualified Electrician an A Grade Licence(highly regarded)
- Demonstrated experience leading vocational education, training, or industry-based teams
- Strong understanding of Certificate II and Certificate III Electrical training environments
- Ability to build trusted relationships with industry, employers, and stakeholder groups
- Proven capability to work independently and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Solid people leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to quality training outcomes and continuous improvement

Desirable Skills and Experience

- Current AQF5 or higher vocational education and training qualification
- Experience managing teachers, trainers, or educational delivery teams
- Knowledge of VET quality standards, compliance requirements, and audit processes
- Experience working with apprenticeships, traineeships, or trade-based training programs
- Established industry networks within the electrical sector
- Experience contributing to business growth, program expansion, or workforce planning
- Ability to identify opportunities, solve challenges proactively, and drive outcomes with minimal supervision
