About the role
Reporting into the Senior Management team at Fitout co, an exciting opportunity has become available for a Project Manager - Construction Fit Out to join our growing organisation based in Melbourne VIC 3000.
As Project Manager - Construction Fit Out, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of fit-out projects from inception through to completion. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality construction fit-out solutions to our clients. You will manage project timelines, budgets, resources and stakeholders, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Planning, coordinating and supervising all aspects of construction fit-out projects, from pre-construction through to project handover
- Managing project budgets, timelines and resources to ensure efficient delivery and cost control
- Liaising with clients, architects, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on project objectives
- Conducting site inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes and safety standards
- Preparing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, variation orders and contract management records
- Identifying and managing project risks, issues and dependencies to minimise delays and cost overruns
- Coordinating with trades and subcontractors to optimise workflow and ensure adherence to site safety requirements
- Managing variations, claims and disputes in a professional and pragmatic manner
- Ensuring all projects comply with relevant legislation, regulations and company safety policies
What we're looking for
- 5+ years' experience in construction project management, with substantial experience in fit-out or interior refurbishment projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, health and safety regulations and industry best practice
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently whilst maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Advanced organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Current driver's licence and ability to visit project sites regularly
- Tertiary qualification in construction management, civil engineering or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Preferred: Experience with tender processes, contract negotiation and cost estimation
- Preferred: Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM)
and digital project management tools
