THE OPPORTUNITY
Evolve Environmental Solutions is seeking a Project Manager with strong estimating capability to manage environmental landscaping projects across the Moreton Bay region.
This is a combined project management and estimating role. You will be responsible for estimating and delivering multiple projects from tender through to completion, with accountability for cost, program, quality and commercial performance.
The role requires someone who can review tender documentation, deliver project pricing and tender submissions, and then manage the work they have priced.
You will manage several active projects at the same time, regularly moving crews, plant and resources between sites as project requirements and priorities change.
ABOUT EVOLVE
Evolve Environmental Solutions delivers environmental landscaping, rehabilitation, revegetation, natural area management, waterway rehabilitation and environmental offset projects across Queensland.
We work with government, infrastructure, development and private-sector clients to deliver practical environmental outcomes on the ground.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, BOQs and scopes of work.
- Deliver project pricing and tender submissions.
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- Prepare tender methodologies, programs and supporting documentation.
- Identify risks, exclusions, assumptions and opportunities during the tender process.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently from mobilisation through to completion and close-out.
- Plan and coordinate the movement of crews, plant and resources across multiple project sites.
- Adjust labour and resources as project priorities, programs and site conditions change.
- Develop and manage project programs, budgets and resources.
- Monitor project costs and productivity against estimate and budget.
- Prepare accurate progress claims and supporting documentation in accordance with contract requirements.
- Manage claims through assessment and certification, resolve queries or disputed amounts and follow up outstanding payments.
- Identify, price, submit and manage variations to ensure additional works are captured and recovered.
- Manage project forecasting and cash flow.
- Maintain client, consultant, supplier and subcontractor relationships.
- Ensure contractual, environmental, quality and HSEQ requirements are met.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Estimating is a key part of this role. You need to be able to take a scope of work, understand what is required to deliver it and develop accurate project pricing and tender submissions.
You will also need to be comfortable managing several projects and field teams at once. Priorities can change quickly, so you need to be able to plan ahead, move people and resources between projects and keep multiple sites progressing.
Commercial management is equally important. You need to understand what has been delivered, what can be claimed, when it can be claimed and what documentation is required to get the claim approved and paid.
You will need:
- Strong estimating and tendering capability.
- The ability to develop project pricing from drawings, specifications, BOQs and tender documentation.
- An understanding of labour productivity, plant requirements, materials, subcontractor pricing and project costs.
- Project management capability within environmental landscaping, rehabilitation, natural areas, landscape construction or a related industry.
- The ability to manage multiple projects, sites and field teams concurrently.
- Solid planning and resource management skills, including coordinating and reallocating staff and plant between projects.
- Strong commercial understanding, including project budgets, forecasting, progress claims, variations and cash flow.
- The ability to prepare, substantiate and follow progress claims through to certification and payment.
- The ability to identify and commercially manage variations and additional works.
- Strong communication and client management skills.
- Good organisation and attention to detail.
- Confidence using estimating, project management, scheduling and reporting systems.
- A current Australian driver licence and Construction White Card.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications in Project Management, Environmental Management, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Business Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
Relevant industry experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications. Practical industry knowledge, strong estimating capability and demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects will be equally valued.
WHY JOIN EVOLVE?
You will have ownership of projects from estimating and tendering through to delivery and completion.
The role combines estimating, commercial management and coordination of multiple environmental landscaping and rehabilitation projects throughout Moreton Bay and South East Queensland.
