Associate Planner / Scheduler - Waterhen, Sydney | Defence Sector

Your new company

Join a market-leading global Defence Industry organisation delivering complex maritime and defence programs across Australia. Based at Garden Island in Sydney's Lower North Shore, you will become part of a high-performing Project Management Office supporting critical Above Water Systems programs and working alongside experienced project, engineering and project controls professionals.

Your new role

As the Associate Planner / Scheduler, you will support Project Managers, Control Account Managers and Work Package Managers to develop, maintain and analyse project schedules across major defence programs. You will be responsible for ensuring project baselines remain accurate, providing schedule and cost performance insights, and supporting project governance and reporting activities.

- Developing and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
- Applying PERT and Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling techniques
- Managing and maintaining WBS, OBS, RAM and work package documentation
- Supporting Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and analysis
- Analysing schedule and cost variances against project baselines
- Preparing monthly PMO reporting and project performance dashboards
- Supporting Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR)



and Schedule Risk Analysis activities
- Working closely with finance, project delivery and customer stakeholders to support forecasting, workload planning and project controls functions

What you'll need to succeed

- Minimum 3 years' experience within Project Planning, Scheduling or Project Controls
- Strong understanding of the project management lifecycle
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Advanced Primavera P6 experience
- Experience using Microsoft Project, Open Plan or similar scheduling tools
- Understanding of PERT and Critical Path Analysis methodologies
- Strong stakeholder engagement and reporting skills
- Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyse schedule, cost and resource data

Highly desirable:
- Defence, maritime or engineering project experience
- Power BI reporting capability
- Acumen Fuse, Acumen 360 or Primavera Risk Analysis experience
- Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) experience
