The Oaks Hotel is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join its professional kitchen team. Located in the heart of Neutral Bay, The Oaks Hotel is one of Sydney’s most iconic hospitality venues, renowned for its vibrant atmosphere, exceptional dining, and welcoming beer garden. The venue is well known for its quality steaks, modern Australian menu, and its ability to cater to both casual diners and large functions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate chef to work in a fast-paced and well-established venue that prides itself on delivering high-quality food and outstanding service to its guests.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and maintain high quality standards across all food preparation and service.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with the venue’s menu and presentation standards.
- Assist with the planning and development of menu items.
- Estimate food and labour costs in consultation with senior chefs and management.
- Receive and properly store food stocks, kitchen supplies, and equipment.
- Assist in ordering, controlling, and managing food stock and ingredients.




- Liaise with senior chefs and management regarding food preparation, kitchen operations, and service requirements.
- Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of catering services and special functions.
- Train and mentor junior chefs, cooks, and kitchen hands.
- Implement and follow kitchen systems, procedures, and operational standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure kitchen environment at all times.

About You
- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience working as a Chef in a busy restaurant, hotel, or hospitality venue.
- Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen environment.
