About the Role
Parabellum International is seeking an experienced Leading Hand – Workshop & Production to join our Equipment and Asset Services (EAS) team at Naval Base.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating day-to-day workshop activities, vehicle builds, production schedules and fleet readiness, while also being capable of stepping in and completing trade work when required.

You will work closely with our EAS Manager, other Parabellum divisions, suppliers, contractors and specialist partners to keep work moving, maintain production schedules and ensure vehicles and equipment are delivered to the required standard and timeframe.

A key part of the role will involve supporting specialist emergency vehicle and fire appliance builds, including working with Rosenbauer as part of Parabellum’s partnership.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate daily workshop and production activities.
- Plan and manage workshop, vehicle build and production schedules.
- Allocate work across mechanics, fitters, fabrication and workshop support personnel.
- Monitor job progress, priorities, deadlines and outstanding actions.
- Maintain accurate job, production and fleet information within company systems.
- Coordinate specialist vehicle, fire appliance, ambulance and equipment builds.
- Liaise with Rosenbauer and other manufacturers, suppliers, contractors and technical partners.
- Coordinate subcontractors and external vendors where specialist work is required.
- Manage fleet maintenance, repairs, readiness and workshop requirements.




- Liaise with other Parabellum divisions regarding fleet, workshop, repair and equipment requirements.
- Identify parts, materials and external services required to keep jobs progressing.
- Maintain workshop standards, housekeeping, tools and equipment.
- Support quality checks, testing, commissioning and completion activities.
- Provide technical guidance and practical support to the workshop team.
- Remain hands-on and undertake mechanical, fitting, fabrication or related trade work when required.

About You
This role will suit someone who is technically capable, organised and comfortable leading a small workshop team while remaining actively involved in the work.

- A relevant mechanical, fitting, fabrication or similar trade qualification.
- Demonstrated hands-on workshop or production experience.
- Experience leading, supervising or coordinating trades personnel.
- Strong scheduling and production-planning capability.
- Ability to manage multiple builds, repairs and competing priorities.
- Experience working with suppliers, manufacturers, contractors and vendors.
- Good computer skills and confidence working with job, production and business management systems.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and workmanship.
- A current unrestricted Australian C class driver licence.
- HR driver licence desirable.

Experience with specialist vehicles, emergency vehicles, fire appliances, heavy vehicles, fleet maintenance or custom vehicle builds would be highly regarded.
