At Avina, we’re a national allied health and behaviour support organisation with 400+ clinicians across NSW, QLD, VIC and SA.
We believe great clinical practice starts with supported clinicians.
Our 12-month SIPP pathway is designed for Provisional Psychologists completing the 5+1 pathway, providing structured supervision and practical experience while supporting you to also become a registered Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Commission.
What the Internship Offers You’ll be supported throughout your internship with:
- Full AHPRA primary and secondary supervision, with no out-of-pocket supervision costs
- Support to become registered and develop your capability as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner
- Structured onboarding and a gradual caseload ramp-up
- Mentoring and support from Senior and Lead Psychologists
- Regular clinical supervision, group supervision and peer reflective practice
- Experience across assessment, functional behaviour assessment and Behaviour Support Planning
- A varied lifespan caseload supporting development of your AHPRA competencies
- Professional development and multidisciplinary learning opportunities
About the Role This is a mobile, community-based role supporting participants across Inner Sydney. You’ll work with participants in their everyday environments, including homes, schools,
supported accommodation and community settings. While travel is an important part of the role, we aim to keep caseloads geographically aligned and as close as possible, helping to make your working day and travel sustainable.
You’ll gradually build your caseload as your confidence develops, working alongside participants, families and support teams to understand behaviour, complete assessments and develop meaningful, evidence-informed strategies.
