Job Summary:

Responsible for performing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain the department’s general ledger. Performs detailed financial analysis of the department’s chart of accounts and financial statements by identifying and analyzing unusual variances.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyzes, records and reports accounting transactions in a timely manner.
- Prepares general ledger entries and account reconciliations. Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
- Responds to inquiries received from management, internal and external auditors, Sarbanes-Oxley audit group and others regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.
- Reviews existing internal controls on a regular basis and develops new internal controls as necessary.
- Analyzes current procedures and recommends changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

- Financial Analysis - Interprets financial data by analyzing trends, variances, opportunities and risks to provide insight to stakeholders regarding financial impact to drive business improvement; evaluates financial results against targets to communicate conclusions to all stakeholders; ensures integrity of financial data by investigating variances and determining corrective actions to resolve identified issues.
- Financial Internal Controls - Leverages internal control framework by assessing internal controls and developing remediation plans to mitigate financial reporting risks and respond to changing business needs.
- Financial Regulations Acumen - Evaluates applicable regulations for the financial area of focus, such as tax, banking, pension, local accounting to ensure underlying transactions are recorded in compliance with applicable regulations; explains key requirements and purpose of regulations and implications to the business to inform and educate relevant stakeholders.




- Financial Reporting - Analyzes financial data by evaluating results and solutions to support business decisions; prepares and presents financial information by summarizing data to communicate results in compliance with regulations and stakeholder expectations; partners with stakeholders to drive financial performance that aligns to organizational goals and strategies.
- Technical Accounting Assessment - Evaluates and researches transactions in accordance with accounting regulations to ensure recorded in compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.
- US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles - Evaluates US accounting standards to record transactions in compliance with requirements and company policies; assesses the accounting requirements and objectives to determine the implications on the business and communicate to stakeholders with varying financial knowledge.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

- College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant
- Chartered Accountant or similar certification is preferred.

Experience:

- Intermediate level of relevant professional work experience in the field of study required.

While supporting core accounting and reporting activities, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that strengthen processes, controls, and reporting capabilities as part of this SAP transformation program.

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based at our Scoresby office on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver trusted financial outcomes while partnering with key operational and Finance stakeholders across the business.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Financial Reporting

- Prepare and review general ledger entries, account reconciliations,



and accounting schedules to support management reporting, business performance reviews, and decision-making.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, maintaining the integrity and reliability of financial information for management reporting and business decision-making.

Providing financial insight and business partnering

- Conduct financial and variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing insights that support informed business decisions and operational performance.
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Operations and Sales to provide financial guidance, support reporting and compliance requirements, investigate issues, and drive continuous improvement in financial processes and business performance.

Strengthening controls and audit readiness

- Maintain strong financial controls and governance practices by supporting internal and external audit requirements, ensuring compliance with SOX controls and company policies, and maintaining accurate process documentation to support an effective and compliant control environment.
- Drive process and control improvements that strengthen governance, compliance, and risk management.

Knowledge Management & Training

- Maintain process documentation and support the training and development of current team members to ensure consistency and continuity across finance activities.

What you'll bring

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or service environments.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP, internal controls, and financial compliance requirements.
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Financials/ERP is preferred.
- Ability to analyse financial data, investigate variances, and communicate insights effectively to both Finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience supporting process improvements, strengthening controls, and contributing to business transformation initiatives.
- An inquisitive, detail-oriented, and can-do attitude, with the ability to work independently, adapt to change, and manage competing priorities.
