Mount Peter
About us
Mount Peter Early Learning is a dedicated early childhood education and care provider committed to nurturing the development and wellbeing of young children in our community. We pride ourselves on creating a warm, supportive and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow and thrive. Our team of passionate educators is at the heart of everything we do, and we are dedicated to fostering a workplace culture that values professional development, collaboration and genuine care for both children and families.
About the role
We are seeking a Qualified Experienced Educator with a specialty as an Infants Educator to join Mount Peter Early Learning in Mount Peter, QLD 4869. This is a permanent position full-time or part-time position offering a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of infants and their families. As an Infants Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, responsive and developmentally appropriate care and education to infants in our service.
This position is fundamental to our commitment to delivering excellence in early childhood education and fostering secure, nurturing relationships that support each child's growth and learning journey.
What you'll be doing
- Providing responsive, individualized care and education to infants, attending to their physical, emotional, social and developmental needs throughout the day
- Building and maintaining secure, trusting relationships with infants to foster their sense of belonging and emotional security
- Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences and activities that promote sensory exploration, cognitive development and early learning
- Communicating regularly and positively with families about their child's progress, daily experiences and developmental milestones
- Maintaining a protected, clean and hygienic environment,
following all relevant health, safety and hygiene protocols
- Supporting infants' routines including feeding, nappy changes and rest times with care, patience and professionalism
- Observing and documenting children's learning and development to inform ongoing planning and assessment
- Collaborating with fellow educators and management to ensure consistent, high-quality care and support for all children
- Upholding and promoting the values and policies of Mount Peter Early Learning
What we're looking for
- A current Early Childhood Education and Care qualification (Certificate III or Diploma in Education and Children's Services)
- Current certification in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Current Gekko trained, training in Safe Sleep protocols.
- Demonstrated experience working with infants in an early childhood education and care setting, with an understanding that one of the greatest challenges—and most rewarding aspects—of the role is learning to slow down within the busyness of the day. This means being intentionally present, following each infant’s cues and rhythms, and recognizing that responsive, unhurried interactions are where meaningful relationships, learning and development occur.
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and a deep commitment to supporting children's holistic development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues
- A thorough understanding of infant development, responsive caregiving and best practice in early childhood education
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team whilst also managing your own responsibilities effectively
- A commitment to professional development and staying current with early childhood education practices and regulations
- Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to your work
- Ideally, experience in a long day care, community childcare or similar early learning environment would be advantageous
