We are currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Leading Hand to join our client's team on the Wakehurst Parkway Project in Sydney on a temporary/casual basis.
n
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong civil construction experience who is confident leading crews on site while still being willing to get involved in the day-to-day work.
n
Offering $45 per hour and approximately 45 hours per week, this role would suit an experienced Leading Hand looking to join a major Sydney infrastructure project.

The Role
n
As a Leading Hand, you will work closely with site supervisors to coordinate daily activities, provide direction to workers and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
n
This is a hands-on position, so we're looking for someone who is equally comfortable leading a crew and jumping in to assist when required.
n
Your responsibilities may include:
n
n
- Leading and coordinating a small crew of site personnel
n
- Allocating daily tasks and providing clear direction to workers
n
- Assisting supervisors with the coordination of site activities
n
- Monitoring productivity, quality and progress of works
n
- Ensuring works are completed in accordance with project requirements
n
- Providing hands-on assistance with civil and construction activities
n
- Coordinating labour, plant, materials and equipment as required
n
- Conducting or assisting with pre-starts and toolbox meetings
n
- Identifying and reporting hazards, delays or site issues
n
- Ensuring workers comply with site procedures and safety requirements
n
- Maintaining strong communication between workers and site supervision
n
- Promoting a positive and safety-focused culture across the crew
n
n
What We're Looking For
n
To be considered, you will ideally have:
n
n
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Senior Civil Worker or similar
n
- Solid experience within civil construction or infrastructure projects
n
- Demonstrated experience leading and coordinating site crews
n
- Good understanding of day-to-day civil construction activities
n
- Ability to read and understand site plans and instructions
n
- Strong communication and people-management skills
n
- Ability to organise workloads and manage changing site priorities
n
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to assist the crew
n
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
n
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
n
- Construction White Card
n
- Full Australian working rights
n
- Ability to complete any required pre-employment and project requirements
n
n
Additional civil construction tickets, plant competencies or relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
n

n
You're an experienced civil professional who knows how to lead from the front. You can keep a crew organised, communicate effectively with supervisors and make sure the job gets done safely and efficiently.
n
You take pride in the quality of your work, understand the demands of a busy infrastructure project and are comfortable balancing crew leadership with hands-on site work.
