THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in the leadership and performance of a high-volume retail outlet at Homebush DFO.
This is a hands‑on leadership position for someone who enjoys being visible on the shop floor, developing people and taking ownership of the day‑to‑day performance of a busy store. You will play an important role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while supporting commercial performance, team engagement and operational standards.

Day-to-Day

- Partner with the Store Manager to drive store sales, profitability and overall performance.
- Lead, coach and develop a diverse retail team, helping individuals reach their potential and preparing high performers for future opportunities.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management and succession planning across the team.
- Create an engaging customer environment through consistently high standards of service and leadership.
- Monitor store standards, operational procedures and loss prevention practices.
- Work closely with the team to maximise commercial opportunities, including promotional activity and key trading periods.
- Maintain strong visual and merchandise presentation standards across the store.
- Oversee daily stock activity, replenishment, transfers and floor changes.
- Use commercial awareness and customer feedback to identify opportunities to improve sales and performance.
- Act as a positive role model for professionalism, presentation, teamwork and customer service.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Minimum 2 years' experience in a retail management or supervisory leadership position.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team of 10+ people.
- Previous experience in a high-volume, fast-paced or outlet retail environment is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build genuine relationships with customers and team members.
- A commercially minded approach with an understanding of sales, performance and operational standards.

- Strong attention to detail and pride in personal presentation.
