The Role - Reporting Analyst
We're seeking a Reporting Analyst to work closely with stakeholders and management to understand reporting needs and translate them into practical solutions. In this role, you'll gather requirements, refine existing reports, and develop new reporting outputs that support decision-making across the organisation - from sales and permits through to construction, service & warranty, and finance. You'll collaborate with an experienced BI team while owning your own reporting tasks, and there's scope to go deeper into our data platform - ETL, integrations, and automation, depending on your strengths.
You'll be working with Microsoft SQL Server and reporting tools (both paginated and interactive reports built in Power BI and/or Report Builder), with data sourced from our Construction Management systems (Framework/Databuild) and other line-of-business applications.
This is a full time position based at our Head Office in Varsity Lakes, working 8:30am-5pm Monday - Thursday and 8:30am - 4pm Fridays.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and enhance reports and dashboards using SSRS/Report Builder and Power BI
- Work with business stakeholders to clarify reporting needs, document requirements, and see requests through to sign-off
- Write and update SQL queries to extract and prepare data from line-of-business applications, including ad-hoc extracts for management and finance
- Troubleshoot reporting issues end to end - report errors, failed refreshes, subscription faults, and data discrepancies - through to root cause
- Manage report server access, security, and scheduled subscriptions,
including provisioning as staff join, move, or leave
- Maintain recurring reports delivered to external partners and suppliers
- Perform data validation and reasonableness checks
- Contribute to ETL processes, external data integrations, and automation across the BI environment
- Use source control (Azure DevOps/Git) and task tracking to keep all work versioned, documented, and supportable by the team
About You To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience creating reports or dashboards in SSRS, Power BI, or similar reporting tools
- Working knowledge of SQL and a willingness to continue building SQL skills
- Familiarity with AI coding tools to assist development (i.e. Claude Code, Codex)
- Ability to understand business questions and translate them into clear reporting outputs
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with non-technical stakeholders
- A service-oriented approach, comfortable managing and prioritising a queue of requests
- Attention to detail and an interest in data accuracy and storytelling with data
- Familiarity with version control practices, or a willingness to learn
Highly regarded, but not required
- Scripting for automation (Python, PowerShell)
or experience with APIs and ETL pipelines
- Power BI Report Server / SSRS administration experience
- Exposure to enterprise construction management system data (specifically Framework and Databuild) or the residential construction industry
