Overview
Big flavours. A brand-new 170-seat venue. A team that feels like family. This is your chance to open a restaurant from day one and run it as your own. We're bringing elevated Malaysian dining to Rouse Hill, and we're looking for a Restaurant Manager to help build it, set the standard, and lead the team as it becomes one of the area's favourite places to eat. If you live and breathe great food, great service and great people — we want to hear from you.
The Role
Reporting directly to the owner, you'll run the venue day to day and own the guest experience end to end. Through the opening you'll help hire and train the team and get the floor running to standard; once we're trading, you'll lead every service, hit your KPIs, manage the P&L; and hold the team to our SOPs. This is a role with full autonomy — the owner is building a business to step back from and grow, and wants a manager who'll take genuine ownership and run it like it's their own.
In the lead-up to opening you will:
- Help recruit, onboard and roster a front-of-house team of 20–30
- Set up and embed the floor systems, service standards and SOPs
- Work with the owner and kitchen on the guest journey, service flow and functions offering
- Make sure licensing, WHS and food-safety compliance is in place for opening
- Help deliver a smooth soft launch and opening
Once we're open you will:
- Lead every service and deliver a consistent, high-standard guest experience
- Own your KPIs and manage the P&L; — driving revenue while controlling COGS and labour
- Lead, develop and retain a happy, high-performing team
- Keep the venue running to our SOPs across a busy 7-day, lunch-and-dinner operation
- Deliver functions and events to a high standard
- Report to the owner against clear targets
What you'll bring ▪ At least 3 years managing a hospitality venue — restaurant experience strongly preferred
▪ A track record in high-volume venues; experience with Malaysian or Asian cuisine is a big plus
▪ A balanced leader who's as comfortable with people as with numbers
▪ Current RSA and Food Safety Supervisor certificate
▪ Full working rights in Australia, and availability across nights and weekends
This role is built on trust. For us, these are non-negotiable:
▪ Absolute honesty and integrity — we protect our team, our guests and our business
▪ Reliability and punctuality — you show up, on time, ready to lead
▪ Solid, open communication — with the team, the kitchen and the owner
▪ A warm, family-oriented approach — we look after our people and our guests like family
What's on offer
▪ A competitive salary of $80,000–$95,000 + superannuation
▪ The chance to open a venue and shape it as your own from day one
▪ Full autonomy to run the venue — with the trust and backing of the owner
▪ A growing business with a clear trajectory — and a genuine path to develop and grow with us
▪ A supportive, ambitious and quality-driven team culture
